Athlone Christmas Market returns to Civic Square this December

December is fast-approaching and visions of sugarplums are beginning to dance through the heads of the nation, with warmly welcomed Christmas markets being announced for venues across the country.

The latest wood-clad assembly to add to your itinerary is Athlone Christmas Market, which is returning to the town’s Civic Square this festive season.

Comprising of neat rows of traditional alpine cabins housing wares from great Irish businesses, the market provides plenty of options for those looking to shop local with garlands & candles, natural honey, scented candles, skincare cream by DeDanu, wood carvings, handmade jewellery and a wide range of products from the Irish Guide Dogs all on offer.

In the food department you can expect Christmas puddings, mince pies, teas and coffees alongside tasty pizzas and crepes. There’ll also be plenty of live entertainment and carol singing to set the festive tone.

Organisers are expecting large numbers to visit the market this year, with stalls booked out by vendors well in advance.

The market takes place from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th December at Civic Square in Athlone town centre.
