Holiday Plans Could Plunge Into Chaos As Ryanair Strike Looms

Jen

Thousands of holiday plans could be thrown into chaos as Ryanair pilots ballot to go on strike.

The strike, which could happen as early as next week, is over a row about who gets job perks first.

According to Independent.ie, more than 100 Ryanair employed pilots are set to vote in favour of the strike.

Pilots want the people in their roles longest to get first call on entitlements like annual leave during school holidays, base transfers and promotions.

The pilot’s union, the Irish Airline Pilots Association (IAPA), gave the workers until July to cast their vote.

The union wants a seniority list drawn up which is a common practice in other airlines.

This comes on the back of Ryanair strike threats at Easter and Christmas about poor working conditions as well as the French air traffic control strike that is currently ongoing.

This could be a complete nightmare.
