Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings as Storm Eleanor makes its way across the country bringing gusts of up to 130km/h.
Motorists have been warned to exercise extreme caution as winds strengthen and some areas are in danger of flooding.
Now, photos and images from Cork are showing some of the havoc already been caused in coastal areas.
Galway has seen streets completely flooded with The Lough Atalia Road, Dock Road, Eglington Street, Dominick Street and Flood Street all impassable.

Things aren’t much better in Cork, where flooding has been reported on the Bailick Road in Midleton and images from Bantry Bay showing cars left stranded.

Met Eireann’s latest weather warnings are for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry.
Sent out at 2pm, the level orange alert warns of “westerly winds of mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h. with gusts of 110 to 130km/h expected at times overnight and into Wednesday mainly in coastal fringes and on high ground.”
It is in place from 10pm tonight until 2pm tomorrow.
A wind warning also applies for the whole of Munster, Leinster and South Galway from 4pm to 9pm.
