‘Baby On Board’ Badge Launched For Pregnant Women On Public Transport In Ireland

Megan Cassidy

Gone are those awkward “will I won’t I” moments on public transport as you try to decipher whether someone is pregnant before offering your seat.

The National Transport Authority has today launched ‘Baby On Board’ badges for expectant mothers to wear on public transport after a successful trial period on Iarnrod Eireann.

The free badges are available at most transport outlets and also at transportforireland.ie, and all public transport services are participating in the new scheme.

Seventeen of the twenty maternity hospitals in Ireland will dispense the badges with the Pregnancy Information Pack collected at their first scheduled hospital appointment.
