It may just sound like the setting of a thriller by Stephen King, but the Clown Motel is a real place.
In the sleepy town of Tonopah, Nevada, it lurks. Upon arrival you’ll be welcomed by a cackling, juggling clown sign which looks like a hybrid creation of something from the Bates Motel mixed with IT.
And the lobby sets you face-to-face with a life-size clown surrounded by a cluster of his smaller minions…
Creeped out yet? We sure are…
Shelves upon shelves of clown toys and other disturbing looking memorabilia line the walls of the main office and portraits of famous clowns feature throughout the motel.
Tonopah, Nevada has a clown-themed motel. It’s decorated with over 600 clowns and is next to an abandoned graveyard. ????: Jasperdo/W Keightley pic.twitter.com/BvLRROXzfr

But the location of the place is the real clincher…

The Old Tonopah Cemetery (yes, with actual dead people) sits just next door to the sleepy grotto.
Since the Clown Motel has risen in fame, several adventurous souls have made the trek out to Tonopah, with the hope of bragging about surviving the night in America’s scariest motel.
Professional writer Christopher Sebela even braved living in the Clown Motel for a whole month to document his experience there.
Yikes.
Any volunteers?
Let us know in the comments and we’ll have a word with the guys for ya 😉
