Let’s all just take a look out the window at the grey, dreary Irish skies right now. Grim? Yes. Classic Irish summer? Unfortunately also yes.
But did you know that a tropical AF island exists called New Ireland, and it looks unreaaaaaaaaaal.
This magical place is in a province and island in Papua New Guinea, otherwise known as pure paradise in the Pacific Ocean.
With a population of about 120,000 people, New Ireland was originally called Neumecklenburg, but was renamed after our lovely little island when it was given to Australia after World War 1.
Doesn’t it look heavenly?
Certainly way better than our rainy old Ireland, that’s for sure…
