Hungary’s capital is endowed with a range of brilliant burger joints, with the latest restaurants and long-established spots coming up with original approaches to providing great meat with an interesting, comfortable atmosphere.

The name of this place seems like somewhat of a red herring given that they specialise in doing American food very well. These chefs are very particular about their craft and guarantee on making everything fresh every morning. The Tex Mex burger is the stand out option on the menu here.

Robinson is a seriously fancy spot and their burgers are bathed in the type of care and attention you’d expect from such an establishment. This opulent, lakeside restaurant gets its meat cuts from world-renowned butcher Dario Cecchini. Their burgers are cooked over a Josper charcoal oven. This is a fine dining burger experience if there ever was one.

Magic Burger is a food truck situated down river to the south of the city centre. The quality of these burgers and the massive portions they serve up manage to attract a steady trade, with many even making the trip out here especially.

Ring Café is highly-regarded for providing top drawer, fresh, (and very large) burgers. RC is slightly more expensive that other similar-looking places but it’s still brilliant value. They offer potato wedges as a standard side too which makes for a nice change from fries.

Black Cab has grown from strength to strength off the back of word of mouth hype about its fantastic, no-nonsense burgers and pleasant atmosphere. They’ve just opened up a second location in the city, so it’s even handier to sample BC’s range of London-themed burgers. Their fries are fried in peanut oil too, making them a healthier (and many would say tastier) option.
