Great news for sleepy people everywhere.
Tripadvisor have revealed the Traveller's Choice Hotel awards, and Clare hotel Dromoland Castle has won Ireland a number one spot as the best hotel for sleep globally.
The award for World's Best Hotel Sleep is a new subcategory to the Tripadvisor awards, but is nevertheless an important one, given that you spend half your stay at a hotel snoozing, so for an Irish hotel to win on a global scale is huge.
Managing Director at Dromoland Castle Mark Nolan said this of their impressive win.
“At Dromoland Castle, we believe that a good night's sleep is the cornerstone of a memorable and rejuvenating hotel experience. This accolade is testament to our unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled comfort, reinforces our position as a global leader in luxury hospitality and motivates us to continue raising the bar for excellence in guest satisfaction. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to TripAdvisor and, most importantly, to our valued guests whose trust and support has made this achievement possible.”
Dromoland Castle prides itself on making every guest that stays there feel like royalty.
So there you have it - if a good night's sleep is important to you, the best hotel in the world to get it is right within our very own island.
Dromoland Castle wasn't the only Irish winner at the TripAdvisor awards.
Sheedy’s Doolin, also in Clare, were 9th in the World’s Best B&Bs, 5th best in Europe and won first place in Ireland. This boutique stay is recognised for its ‘true Irish hospitality’ with only ‘excellent’ reviews on its listing.
Dingle hotel Castlewood was also named as the 14th Best Small Hotel in the world, 5th in Europe and first in Ireland. The guest house gets high praise from guests for its warm hospitality, comfortable rooms and great breakfast.
