You Need To Add These Italian Volcanic Hot Springs To Your Bucket List

Alana Laverty

You know those pics on Instagram you see and just think, “nope, that can’t be real”.

Well, prepare yourself, because these beautiful hot springs hidden away in the fields of Tuscany are a dream come true.

Terme di Saturnia are considered Europe’s most idyllic hot springs.

As you can see from these photos, the tiered pools are filled with steaming sulphur water that’s nearly 37ºC.

Dreamy.

Just imagine sitting in these gurgling, zen baths which sit above a volcanic crater on a nice day… magical.

The minerals waters also have skin-soothing benefits, so you’re really treating yo’self.

A two-hour drive from Siena, the springs are located outside of the town of Saturnia. They’re 100% free to visit which makes them very busy – but they are definitely worth the wait.

If you wanna go all out and splash some cash then the surrounding resort, Hotel Terme di Saturnia, offers bougie spa treatments, accommodation and great grub in a Michelin-starred restaurant.
