We Irish love being included on a list, particularly such a prestigious one as this.
Compiled as part of the annual Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, Ireland came in at number 18.

Quite an achievement considering that there are just under 200 countries in the world.
The awards, now in their 32nd year, saw 600,000 registered voters weigh in an make their voices be heard on what they consider to be ‘the best’ within a given range of categories.
Topping the list were Indonesia, Thailand and Portugal with Sri Lanka and South Africa following close behind to complete the top five.

Winners were picked according to readers’ travel experiences of the world’s countries and Ireland’s ranking within the top 20 is a testament to the country’s thriving tourism and hospitality industry.
With some of the world’s most stunning views and loads of craic to boot, it’s no surprise that everyone loves Ireland as much as we do.
