Ireland’s first glamping pop-up is opening in July

James Fenton

Listen up, glampers.

It’s looking like another summer of staycations for many people here in Ireland and an option you may not have considered will be popping up in Wexford in July.

Summer Glamp, Ireland’s first glamping popping will be opening in the sunny south east on July 2 and will run for eight weeks throughout the summer. Located at Slaney Castle in Barntown, there will be a number of packages available catering for families, couples, mates and, yep, even dog owners!

Your pooch will be more than welcome to join you on your glamping staycation as you sleep under the stars close to some of Ireland’s nicest beaches. On-site facilities include outdoor bars serving up wines and beers, wood fired hot tubs, food trucks, the pamper pod, the all-important charging area for devices and outdoor cinema.

You’ll also be able to tuck into coffees, pastries, ice-cream, pizza, fish & chips and much more whenever you get peckish. Sure who’d need to get on a plane at all?

Speaking about Summer Glamp, founder Conor Glennon said: “2021 is the summer of the staycation and Summer Glamp is here to bring the VIP festival glamping vibe to the sunny Southeast. Whether you’re planning a family break, or a weekend of craic and memories with your mates, Summer Glamp will be the ideal base with its luxury accommodation and facilities. It’s the perfect jumping off point to explore everything that Wexford has to offer, from Blue Flag beaches to Hook Head peninsula to Loftus Hall. We’re looking forward to announcing more details of what visitors can expect to enjoy over the coming weeks, including entertainment acts.”
