Mulled wine is flowing, Christmas tunes are being blasted at every bend, and you're full to the brim of Bratwurst and mince pies. And so goes the glory of Christmas Markets.

While Ireland wouldn't exactly be the first place that comes to mind when you think of Christmas markets, the one in Galway is now in its eighth year, and has grown into a beautifully charming display of over 50 wooden chalets.

It's open in Eyre Square from 6pm on Friday 17th November until Friday 22nd December 2017.

Doesn't it just make you feel Christmassy?

This year will feature amusement rides including a Big Wheel, Helter Skelter and traditional Carousel along with live music performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs, carol singing together with charity and community events will feature.

Santa's Grotto will be run by local charities and the popular Bier Keller will be playing host to various events throughout the Market's duration.

Food lovers can feast on a bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while beer lovers can sample a stein at the German Bierkeller, offering a range of traditional German beers, apple cider and mulled wine.
