This Mystical Park Is Where You’ll Find Ireland’s Very Own ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Scenery

Sarah

If there’s one thing J.R.R. Tolkien knew how to do, it was to create breathtakingly imaginative landscapes with his words, forcing you to see misty rolling hills and magic hiding behind every corner.

And while the LOTR movies were mainly filmed in New Zealand, our very own Glenveagh National Park in Donegal boasts scenery almost as good.

The remote and hauntingly beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains, pristine lakes, tumbling waterfalls and enchanted native oak woodland in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains will make you gasp at every turn.

These photos of this incredible place that will have you convinced we live in a country of hidden giants and hobbits…

Next weekend’s hiking trip sorted.
