This New Glamping Site In Wicklow Is Set To Be Mad Popular For Weekend Getaways

Sarah

While the word ‘camping’ might at first conjure PTSD style images of freezing in mouldy tent at Electric Picnic and having to pee in a bottle because your zip is stuck on the tent door, glamping is something else all together.

Think cosy fires, real beds (yes, as in a mattress and pillows!) and all the luxuries your spoiled little heart could ever desire.

A new luxury glamping site is opening in Wicklow next April, and we can only imagine just how popular it will be with couples and families alike.

Camp Glamp boasts six expansive tented suites, nestled in the shelter of Djouce Mountain, each with its own private decking and fire pit barbecue area under a canopy shelter.

The 136m2 luxury tents welcome up to eight guests, with bedroom areas accommodating two doubles and four singles, offering “regal space and comfort.”

Five-star bed linen are a feature, as well as an adjoined private tented bathroom with internal wood burning stove, toilet, hand basin, hot shower and a hairdryer, and local organic toiletries are included.

The King size beds are complete with Irish Easca Gel Memory Foam Mattresses for ultimate comfort, as well as bed linen, soft pillows and cosy furs and throws, and each Camp Glamp suite has power points for small household appliances, laptops, and phone chargers, as well as its own separate Wi-Fi and blue tooth speaker system.

You can pre-order a selection of meats and other foods from local award-winning suppliers, for delivery straight to the tent door with grub available from The Happy Pear.

Each tent has its own fire pit with lanterns, and there’s an outdoor hot tub on site

In the daytime, Camp Glamp guests can walk along the privately accessed Wicklow Way, visit the stunning Powerscourt waterfall, and picnic by the breath-taking Lough Tay or try their hands at guided hill walking or sunrise horse riding.

At Camp Glamp in Wicklow, one night in high season costs €450, and there are significant discounts the longer you extend your stay. Between eight people that’s only €56 each… Hellooooo gals weekend away!
