The humble burger seems to be as popular as ever, and there are some top quality versions across the island of Ireland.
Consumers seems to spend a bit more on a good burger, leaving the chipper or McDonald’s behind and going for the real gourmet stuff.
So, we’ve picked 15 of the very best burgers from across the country. All you’ll have to do is jog to each one, so you can work off the calories in between stops.
1. Eat Gastro Pub – Galway
An amazing burger in a super setting, where the menu offers up something for everyone. Plus you get to wash down your burger with a delicious range of craft beers.

2. Coq Bull – Cork
As the name would suggest they have a large focus on all things chicken, but they also do mean beef and fish burgers. Absolutely gorgeous.

3. Pyke “N” Pommes – Derry
An unassuming little food shack in Derry that does absolutely outstanding food. A burger that is so good you’d drive for it from anywhere in Ireland

4. Five Guys – Belfast
The newest addition to the Belfast burger scene. First of many to come in Ireland, and worth every mile of the trip north just to taste one of these.

5. Burrza – Waterford
Anywhere that has a focus on burgers and pizzas is going to get our vote.
Once you do manage to choose a burger from the amazing menu you won’t be let down. Absolutely epic.

6. Bunsen – Dublin
We often rave about them over on Lovin Dublin and for a very good reason. Three venues across the city that can barely keep up with the demand for the amazing burgers they offer.

7. Harkins Bistro – Leitrim
Bit of a drive for most to reach this spot in the heart of Leitrim, but once you do get here you’ll find one of the biggest and tastiest burgers going.

8. Rustic Stone – Dublin
One the higher end of the scale in terms of price and setting in one of Dublin’s very best restaurants. The burger here is among the best you’ll ever eat, and packed full of moisture, if a little pricey.

9. Big Al’s BBQ and Burgers – Belfast
A proper BBQ joint that does all sorts of meat to a high standard – when the smoked flavours touch your lips all your problems will melt away in an instant.

10. Jo Burger – Dublin
A favourite on the Dublin restaurant scene for years now. Their exciting toppings, great sauces and huge portions make this an absolute must.

11. Brew Brothers – Limerick
Not one of the fanciest restaurants on the list but by god they do a mean burger, and huge portions.

12. Beeftro – Dublin
A couple of locations in Dublin (Dundrum and just off Grafton Street) and their burger is absolutely superb, as should be expected from a restaurant that mainly focuses on beef.

13. Generator Hostel – Dublin
They put a lot of effort into their burger and it is now one of the best in the country. Whether you’re staying in the hostel or not, make sure you call in for one of their insane burgers.

14. Wow Burger – Dublin
One to get into you before, after or during a feed of pints. Great branding but the burger and the chips with fancy toppings and garlic butter are the stars of the show here.

15. The Kitchen Gorey – Wexford
Some incredible cooking with the very best of ingredients in this local restaurant in Gorey. Their burger is second to none.
