Cheap dinner recipes are always good to know.

For those times when you’ve been fast and loose with your debit card at the weekend, or the days running up to payday, it’s reassuring to have a trick or two when you’re feeling the weight of the money-driven world.

Here’s a few of our favourites, that should never cost more than €5 per person. Because good food is always a good investment.

1. Chickpea burgers

This recipe incorporates a lot of things you’ll probably have in the back of the press by the time payday comes around, such as spices, garlic and a tin of chickpeas.

This particular recipe serves eight, but can obviously be tailored to your attendees needs.

3. Colcannon and sausages
