A Fab New Gin Trail Launches In Ireland This Week

If you’ve no weekend plans for the upcoming Bank Hol bonanaza (and even if you do this is worth cancelling them for), then you’re gonna be v excited to hear that a new gin trail is launching on Friday night.

Castlebar in Mayo is hoping to establish itself as the ‘gin capitol of Ireland’, and so 15 of its local bars have teamed up to launch a unique gin trail to bring people on a “juniper filled journey.”

That’s the kinda adventure we really like the sound of.

Each pub will create their own special gin and tonic, offering it with a carefully curated premium tonic and garnish pairing, and gin lovers will unite with the help of a tour guide and map to lead them around the gin hotspots of the town.

The launch party for the boozy trail will kick off at 8pm on Friday in the  Connaught Inn, and the special gin trail will continue on for the future, so even if you don’t get the chance to pop down this weekend you can still enjoy it another time.
