Croke Park Issues A Blanket Ban On Bags And Rucksacks For All Events

James Fenton

New security measures at Croke Park mean that patrons will no longer be allowed to bring large bags or rucksacks into the stadium.

The rule applies to all match days and concerts at GAA headquarters. The new practice will come into effect on Sunday June 25 when Dublin take on Westmeath in the Leinster football semi-final.

According to RTÉ, smaller bags no bigger than 21cm x 29.7cm (about the size of an A4 page) will be permitted but may be subject to searches.

Both Coldplay and U2 are due to play at the Drumcondra venue on Saturday 8 and Saturday 22 July respectively.
