Ireland has been selected to host the EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) next year.

The event will take place at the RDS from September 14 to 19 2018. According to RTÉ, around 140 participants from over 40 countries with 100 projects are expected to take part.

Organiser Mari Cahalane said:

“I am delighted Ireland has been chosen to host the 2018 EUCYS.

“It is a huge honour and something we have been working towards for quite some time.”

The winner of next year’s national Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE) will go on to represent Ireland at the European event.
