The Central Statistics Office has released new aviation figures which outline the top destinations from people flying from Ireland in the first quarter of 2017.
The figures took into account the Republic’s four main airports (Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Knock) and unsurprisingly, flights to the UK have generally come out on top.Â
As far as Dublin is concerned, the two most popular destinations are both in London with Heathrow being the most popular ahead of Gatwick. Amsterdam was next while Manchester finished fourth, perhaps helped by the number of Man United supporters heading across the Irish Sea most weekends.Â
Cork airport’s two most popular destinations were also both in London with Stansted replacing Gatwick in this case.
Shannon had three London destinations at the top followed by Newark in the States.
Finally, Knock Airport’s top five destinations were all located in England.Â
