These Are The Things Irish People Miss Most When They’re Abroad

James Fenton

If you’ve ever spent some time living away you’ll know that you pine for a few home comforts every now and again. But what are the things Irish people miss the most?

Eurosender, a European shipping service has revealed that 61% of Irish students on their Erasmus year miss cheese and onion Tayto more than anything else.

This was followed by 15% of responders who miss Dairy Milk chocolate; 13% who pine for Barry’s tea and only 10% miss their mothers’ home cooked meals. The mammies won’t like that.

The figures also revealed that we’re a nation of bookworms as books are the most popular item to be shipped home to Ireland followed by clothes.

More than 3,200 Irish people take part in Erasmus programmes every year.
