The cheapest bottle of Prosecco I’ve ever found in Dublin is €8 from Lidl.
Which is really decent for a bottle of golden, sparkling nectar.
If I could have it on an IV drip into my arm I would. And so when news broke yesterday that Tesco were selling bottles of Prosecco for a fiver in celebration of Valentine’s Day I pegged it out of the house down to the nearest Tesco.
I was well rewarded.
This Amante Prosecco Frizzante is described as having “less intense fizz but maintains that unmistakable prosecco profile of pears, apples and white peaches”, according to the press release that prompted my journey to the supermarket.
Yeah. What they said.
It’s a fiver for a 75cl bottle. Need I say more?
Skedaddle.
