On the first episode of X Factor: The Band, Robbie from Galway displayed a geek cool swag, whatever that is.
When
Robbie Williams was quoted yesterday as saying that it would take millions to get him to take part in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, he would likely have presumed that it would be the biggest reality TV story of the day that involved a Robbie.
He was wrong.
Because Robbie Monaghan from Galway managed to do the improbable and win over Simon Cowell during the audition process for new series,
X Factor: The Band.
Robbie, a teenager from the City of Tribes, got his audition started in confident style by telling judge, Nicole Scherzinger, that he was "single and ready to mingle."

The 17-year-old then belted out a beautiful rendition of One Direction hit, Little Things, as his mum watched nervously from backstage with X Factor host Dermot O'Leary.
After some back and forth between the judges and consultants on the side, the decision was made to put Robbie through to the next stage, when the band will be decided.
It's safe to say that the Galway lad is an early favourite to make it into the group, however, having melted hearts with his performance on Monday's show.

We'll see Robbie again later this week as both bands - boys and girls - will be formed on Wednesday night and Friday night, before the live final on Sunday evening.
