Yep, that’s right, you can rent Harry Potter’s gaff. The famous Harry Potter.
And it’s actually pretty cheap.
Prices vary depending on dates and demand, but Potterheads can rent the De Vere House in England – oftentimes for less than €130 a night.
Making its debut in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One, the house and surrounding village were the inspiration for Harry’s childhood home in Godric’s Hollow.
The real-life version, which dates all the way back to the 14th century, can be found in the quaint village of Lavenham – one of Britain’s finest medieval villages with over 300 protected heritage properties.
According to owners Jane and Tony Ranzetta, the property offers a wealth of history though it is reportedly visited regularly by ghosts and ghouls.
Sounds creepy but as long as He Who Shall Not Be Named isn’t there, I don’t care if it’s haunted.
Listed on Airbnb, guests can stay in one of the two guest bedrooms, each complete with four-poster beds, en suite bathrooms, TV, wifi and a private guest sitting room with log fire and courtyard garden.
There’s even a full English breakfast in the morning. No house elves though.
Given that my own house is called The Burrow, you can rest assured that I’ll make it my business to visit Lavenham as soon as funds allow.
