Irish duo Rubberbandits have revealed how much they’ve earned so far for 2019 from royalties.
The Limerick lads had their song ‘Dad’s Best Friend’ included in the 2017 release Trainspotting 2.
While many of us instantly hear a KERCHING! in our heads when we think of earning royalties, the amount artists actually earn from having their music included in films and TV is not… as much as you’d think.
The Rubberbandits shared their invoice from the film’s royalties and it actually turns out musicians earn sweet feck all.
The lads, having earned a solid 36.40 this year from their work, jokingly shared on Twitter “Fuck ya, just got this years Royalties from having a song and video in Trainspotting2 and the soundtrack.”
