The edge of the sofa was the place to be last night as Eurovision fever gripped the nation. Ireland's hopes of qualification for this year's final rested on the 25-year-old shoulders of Ryan O'Shaughnessy and when the time eventually came for him to perform his entry Together he knocked it out of the park.

That was the easy part though as audiences then had to sit through the voting process and it was all just too much for Eurovision fan Martin Jones in this video posted by RTÉ reporter Colm Flynn.

Martin spent about two minutes going out of his mind with a mix of excitement, nerves, worry and blind panic with a few f-bombs thrown in for good measure.

All the emotions then came pouring out when it was announced that Ryan had gotten through to Saturday's final and Martin summed up the feelings of a nation.
