WATCH: This Irish Man Recorded A Beautiful Song In Tribute Of His Cousin Who Sadly Passed Away

AmyBell

We all know how hard it can be to lose someone close to us.

We all deal with grief and sadness differently but this Tipperary man has gone and done a beautiful thing for his cousin who passed away from meningitis earlier this year.

Daithí O’Donnell from Tipperary has written a gorgeous tribute to his cousin, Gráinne O’Donnell who sadly passed away after contracting meningitis.

He wrote the song Hey Mo Ghrá (Hey My Love) when he was recently in Greece and said the song just came to him.

On his touching post on his Facebook he said: “One night while lying in a hammock looking up at the stars the song just came to me all of a sudden and I ran to find paper.

“All I could find was an order we had made for take away so I scribbled it on that.”

You can watch the moving video below.

Daithí recorded the song in Shipwreck Bay in Zakynthos for his cousin Gráinne who passed away in February.

The family have been paying tributes to the beautiful 20-year-old using the hashtag #Grá on their posts especially of their travels as Gráinne herself loved travelling.

Daithí said it has been a difficult time for his family and that, “for these last few months I had been trying to put it all in to words and I just couldn’t.”

We think this heartfelt act sums it all up perfectly.

We absolutely adore this song.
