The Olive Cafe

A popular spot in Tramore, The Olive Café is regularly mentioned as a must-visit when down in Waterford.

As with many other businesses in the hospitality industry, the team have been hit hard by Covid-19 having been closed since mid-March. Ever hopeful that they would be able to reopen, owners have since made the tough decision to close, today revealing that they won’t be reopening their doors to the public.

Making the sad announcement on social media, the team detailed their decision in a post to Facebook writing:

“It is with great sadness and regret that we have to announce the closure of The Olive Cafe in Tramore.

During our eight years in Tramore we have had the pleasure of looking after all our customers many of whom have become friends.
Thank you to all for your loyalty and support over that time. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best stay safe.”
Naturally, there has been an outpouring of love for the restaurant since locals heard the news with many expressing their sadness and describing it as a great loss to the area. Several even dubbed the place their absolute favourite café in Tramore so it’s safe to say the guys will be very missed.
They remain open in town on John Roberts Square.
