With Storm Ciara approaching, Met Eireann has issued weather warnings for the whole country.

Storm Ciara was named by the United Kingdom's Met Office on Wednesday and now wind and rainfall warnings have been issued for Ireland, with extreme weather conditions expected. A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for the entire country, with the worst of the gusts anticipated on Sunday. A Met Eireann spokesperson said: "Storm Ciara (named by the UK Met Office) will produce very strong winds over Ireland on Sunday with a risk of damaging gusts. https://twitter.com/MetEireann/status/1225387697507840000 "Over the weekend the combination of Spring Tides and high seas as well as stormy conditions will result in an elevated risk of coastal flooding especially along southern, western and northwestern coasts." A Status Yellow rainfall warning will also be in effect this weekend for Ireland, with a risk of localised flooding in the west of the country. "A spell of heavy rain will spread eastwards across the country on Saturday with 20-40mm expected, highest in the west and northwest," the national forecaster continued. https://twitter.com/MetEireann/status/1225393994932375552 "Another spell of heavy rain on Sunday will clear to squally wintry showers. Another 20-40mm likely. "A risk of localised flooding this weekend, especially over the western half of the country." The wind warning is currently in place from 9am on Saturday morning to midnight on Sunday night while the rainfall warning is valid from midday on Saturday to 3pm on Sunday afternoon. There is the potential for additional weather warnings to be issued in the coming days as more information becomes available regarding Storm Ciara.
