The forecast for this week is rainy and warm

Fiona Frawley

It’s the kind of in between-y weather you hate to see but look guys, we’ll get through it.

We could be saying goodbye to summer for real this time as rainfall is forecast across the country for the coming week.

According to Met Éireann, it’ll be generally cloudy and misty today with showery outbreaks moving up from the south throughout the day. It’s set to be mild and humid with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees celsius.

Tomorrow will be cloudy too with scattered showers. It may brighten up throughout the day with some sunny spells but heavy showers will develop across the north and east later, with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

The rest of the week is set to be changeable weather wise with “dry and bright spells interspersed with showers or longer spells of rain”. Highest temperatures should stay within the mid to high teens, with patches of mist and fog forecast for tomorrow night. As it stands there is “uncertainty for the weekend”, but it’s likely the showers will continue into Saturday with rain possibly moving in from the Atlantic on Sunday. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain at around 15 to 19 degrees.
