So put your love goggles on and get yourself down to the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival.
Classed as Europe’s biggest singles festival and taking place 30 August to 29 September, the programme for this year looks unreal, if I do say so myself. With acts such as Hermitage Green and The RipTide Movement amongst the lineup, attendees are basically in for a month-long party of music and dancing. Even our main man Mike Denver is set to make an appearance!
Top of every festival-goers list? Meeting with Ireland’s most famous matchmaker Willie Daly of course! Find him in his ‘office’ in the Matchmaker Bar and let him guide you on your quest for romance.
Credited with having set up 3,000 marriages, Willie puts his success rate down to his ‘love ledger’; a 150-year-old book filled with ‘love-seeking profiles’. Touch it and you’ll be married and in love within six months…better cancel your plans!
