This Irish art project is bringing colour and creativity to communities all over the country

Fiona Frawley

We all need a bitta creativity in our lives, and this could be the perfect workshop for you to express yours!

The gals at Bloom | The Art Project know this, and over the past year have been spreading the artistic love by creating beautiful murals across the country and hosting workshops for artistes of all ages and experiences.

The project’s founders, Fiona and Aisling, started the company with a vision to bring joy and happiness to people and communities through art. They stress that you don’t need to be a professional or have experience to benefit from doing something creative, and want to encourage people to tap into their thoughts, feelings and emotions through art.

Both Fiona and Aisling have always loved art but went in different directions during college, with Fiona studying psychology and Aisling studying neuroscience. Through their respective courses of study, Aisling and Fiona gained a deeper understanding into how art can be therapeutic, and of the positive effects it can have on the brain. As a result, Bloom was born.

Bloom collaborate with local communities to create uplifting murals such as this one in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, and also hold workshops for those looking to connect with their inner artiste. If this sounds like a bitta you, you can join them in person at their next workshop on the 24th of July, at Bective Mill in Meath.
