This dog friendly café needs to be on your Cork bucket list

Sarah Finnan

Dogs and coffee are two of the best things on earth.

So naturally, a place that combines the two ranks pretty high on my list.

Starting my morning with a coffee is second nature at this stage but should that cup be less than satisfactory then my whole day is off. Dramatic maybe but fellow caffeine fiends will know this to be true.

Having never been to Cork before, I enlisted the help of friends for advice on what to do and most importantly where to eat and drink.

Alchemy Coffee on Barrack Street came highly recommended, so I called in to sample the goods.

Serving up 3FE coffee, those used to the Dublin coffee scene will feel right at home.

Quirky décor and a counter stocked with plenty of treats make this place one of the coolest spots in the city.

Oh, and did I mention it’s dog-friendly?

Yep if you’re lucky enough to find a seat (it’s quite popular so be prepared to wait) you might find yourself next to some furry neighbours.

Would recommend to a friend.
