Dogs and coffee are two of the best things on earth.
So naturally, a place that combines the two ranks pretty high on my list.
Starting my morning with a coffee is second nature at this stage but should that cup be less than satisfactory then my whole day is off. Dramatic maybe but fellow caffeine fiends will know this to be true.
Having never been to Cork before, I enlisted the help of friends for advice on what to do and most importantly where to eat and drink.
Alchemy Coffee on Barrack Street came highly recommended, so I called in to sample the goods.
Serving up 3FE coffee, those used to the Dublin coffee scene will feel right at home.

@3fecoffee we are LOVING the @mrstevemccarthy packaging 🤩🤩 this is a Gesha we have from Farami, a farm in Costa Rica. Farmers, Juan and Maria are highly sustainable and have been awarded a blue flag for their environmental sustainability: They have a mil on site which gives them pristine quality control. By using the honey process, the coffee coming from Farami is given a really refined sweetness. This coffee is packed with notes of peach, orange marmalade and red current. It’s bright and juicy and absolutely bangin’ on filter. Come early to grab your bag to avoid disappointment ⭐️
Quirky décor and a counter stocked with plenty of treats make this place one of the coolest spots in the city.
Oh, and did I mention it’s dog-friendly?
Yep if you’re lucky enough to find a seat (it’s quite popular so be prepared to wait) you might find yourself next to some furry neighbours.
Would recommend to a friend.
