‘Alien sightings’ reported in Limerick over the weekend

Where else would they be going, in fairness.

Limerick residents took to social media over the weekend to report mysterious happenings in the sky, which some believed to be extra terrestrial sightings.

According to the Limerick Leader aliens are believed to have been spotted in Limerick City, with “mysterious lights appearing over the north side of the city’s skies”.

Sky gazers reported colourful beams of light projecting from the clouds above the city, but before you get your telescope out in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the Shannon’s answer to Spock, be aware all’s not as it seems.

The mysterious lights have since been accredited to an installation that took place in Thomond Park during rehearsals for a special light show event.

The installation was part of a rebranding for healthcare solutions company Legato Health Technologies. The company hosted a light beam show for its stakeholders at the home of Munster Rugby for their formal unveiling as Carelon Global Solutions Ireland.

So not exactly the Millennium Falcon preparing to invade. But look, we all enjoy a healthy dose of conspiracy theorising from time to time. We look forward to hearing about ET making his way back to the Milk Markete in the not too distant future.
