“We have decided this is the best option for us.”

Sadly the Irish hospitality closures don’t seem to be letting up. Burgerify, based in Blackrock in Louth, have taken to Instagram to announce their pending closure after 20 years in business. The location started off as Café Acqua for 17 years, before becoming Burgerify for the last three.

They will officially cease trading on Sunday 12th February, which only gives customers just under two weeks to get their final Burgerify fix in.

Their caption read as such:

“Unfortunately due to some lifestyle changes we have decided this is the best option for us. We’ve been at this premises for nearly 20 years and we’ve had lots of good memories, good laughs and great customers as both Cafe Acqua and Burgerify.”

While it’s goodbye to Burgerify, for now at least, they do have some plans up their sleeves for their newest venture, Stack’d. The lunch spot, best known for their toasties and sausage rolls, opened in October 2022 on the Dublin Road; we expect big things from them now that they will be the business’ prime focus.

The Burgerify team finished their post off expressing their gratitude, saying,

“We know this is going to be a tough one as we’ve built up such a great and loyal customer base and we’d like to thank every single person that has come to visit us in Burgerify over the last three years and the seventeen years before that as Cafe Acqua.”

Make sure to stop in one last time before the Louth burger spot is gone for good.
