Fiona Frawley

FAO anyone who’s been missing a good ole fashioned bop in a field over the past couple of years.

Boutique festival Another Love Story are launching a new venture this year, this time in the scenic surrounds of East Cork.

This month, the ALS team are bringing Love is a Stranger, a day of food, music and atmosphere to The Grainstore in Ballymaloe. The new festival presents a carefully curated line up across two rooms in the 17th century barn complex.

Music-wise you can expect performances from Conor O’Brien (aka Villagers); world-tinged grooves from West Cork (via London) outfit K3:lu; full band shows from celebrated Irish artists Anna Mieke and Junior Brother; the powerful multi-instrumentalist Clare Sands; the stunning folk stylings of Peter Broderick; a set of laid-back West Coast style beats and rhymes from Cork’s Jar Jar Jr; and the careful harmonies of emerging West Cork duo Les SalAmandas.

And for the foodies among you, Resident Ballymaloe caterer Wildside Catering will be dishing up tasty street food from their stall, with The Ballymaloe Cafe & Giftshop also open throughout, and a full bar provided for the event.

The one day event takes place on Saturday, 19th March. Day tickets are priced at €35.00, and €50.00 for family tickets. Return buses are also available to the venue from Cork City (€10) & Midleton (€5). Tickets and more lineup info available via the Another Love Story WEBSITE.
