James Fenton

Get your supplies and batten down the hatches folks because a small earthquake was recorded in Donegal this morning.

According to Geophysics Section of Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, the 1.5 magnitude tremor occurred at around 6.46am north east of Milford on the Fanad Peninsula.

Thankfully there have been no reports of injuries and it appears earthquakes of this nature aren’t uncommon in this part of Ireland. The largest recorded in this area was a magnitude 2.2 which occurred near Clonmany on 21st November 1994.

We’re just glad everyone is okay.
