Galway Has Just Been Named European Capital Of Culture 2020

Fair play to G-g-g-Galway!

The results have just come in for Ireland's European Capital Of Culture in 2020 and Galway is the lucky winner.

Two European cities were being chosen as cultural capitals for the year in question, one from Ireland and one from Croatia.

The City Of The Tribes fought off stiff competition from Limerick and the Three Sisters cities of Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford, with Dublin having been knocked out of the running last year.

The winner was decided by 10 judges of various nationalities with backgrounds in arts, cultural or European-affairs.

So well done, Galway! There's never been a more appropriate time to rewatch this ad...
