Monroe’s pub in Galway has just announced a new ‘dial-a-pint’ service that comes complete with a custom Pintman Van and everything.

A popular fixture down in Galway’s Westend, Monroe’s is one of the city’s best-loved live-music venues. Forced to close their doors back in early March over coronavirus fears – much like pubs, restaurants, cafes and other countless other businesses around the country – staff have been trying to come up with innovative ways to continue serving customers. And they’ve hit the nail on the head with this one.

Introducing a ‘dial-a-pint’ service, the idea is very simple. Basically phone up, pre-order to book your slot, pay over the phone and the team will deliver pints straight to your door (provided you’re within 5km of the pub).

Sharing a photo of their custom Pintman van to Instagram, here’s what they had to say:

“Phone Lines open at 1pm – 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday) taking orders through until Bank Holiday Monday.⁣

You can book the PINTMAN VAN for either:⁣

  • 30 minute slot = minimum order of 10 pints
  • 1 HR slot = minimum order of 20 pints
  • Pints of Guinness or Heineken Available

Slots available from 3pm – 9pm everyday and delivery range is 5km of Monroes. Payment must be made in advance via phone order.⁣”

Pints cost €6 a pop and the service includes free delivery, plastic cups and your own personal barman.

Adding that the Pintman van is “the first of its type in Galway”, the team say they are looking forward to the trial and “hope to do Paddy Losty proud”.

Trust Galway to have its finger on the pulse when it comes to pints and craic. Sure, we’d expect nothing less.
