Preemptively getting things ready for the festive season, workers down in Galway are busy prepping the city for its annual Christmas lights display.
One of the highlights of the year, the switching on of the Christmas lights is a big occasion – regardless of what Irish town or city you find yourself in. c, most people use it as a guideline for when to start their Christmas shopping.
Generally falling sometime in November, workers down in Galway seem to be particularly eager this year, getting a headstart on things and putting the groundwork in place for when that day comes.

Festivities may be different this year but at least Galway will still look gorge.
Doing one better than the City of Tribes, one local Leitrim woman has proved that she’s definitely in the silly season spirit, reporting that she has her Christmas tree up for two whole weeks already – complete with decorations, a star and even presents!!!

Prepping for the lights to go up is one thing though, decorating your gaff quite another and while I’m in no way anti-Christmas, putting your tree up before Halloween is where I draw the line.
