There’s a Galway pub serving gin pancakes for Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday is almost upon us.

One of the best days of the year, it’s up there with the likes of Christmas for me.  Paying homage to the humble pancake in all its glory – it’s no secret that I’m a fan.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say that pancakes are my lifeblood and to be perfectly honest, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of them. How could you when there’s a myriad of topping combinations to try out? Syrup, honey, fruit, chocolate, cheese…the list goes on and on.

Some go sweet, others go savoury. Some prefer to eat them plain, others drown them in toppings and then some. One ingredient I never contemplated adding though is alcohol, which is why the pancake offering at The Front Door caught my eye.

Back by popular demand, The Front Door’s famous gin pancakes will reappear on the menu this Tuesday.

Announcing the news on Instagram, they predict that G+T drinkers “are going to go flippin crazy” for them. I don’t doubt it.

Giving theirs an adult upgrade, they’ll be serving the fluffy devils up with a Beefeater Pink Gin infused wild berry compote and strawberry cream. And we’re drooling just thinking about it.

Arguably one of the more inventive ways to top the treat, gin fans and foodies alike are sure to be impressed.

Gin pancakes will be available from 12noon this Tuesday.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be celebrating by eating pancakes for every meal of the day. It would be rude not to…
