This Farmer From Tyrone Proposed In The Most Farmer Way Possible

Sarah

Think you’ve seen the most romantic way to ask someone to be your forever lobster? Think again.

Ashley Farrell, a farmer based in Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone, made sure that his girlfriend’s Christmas Eve was one to remember with an udder-ly (we’re sorry) amazing surprise.

Ashley began by leading his girlfriend, Anna Martin the cow shed to receive her present of, you’ve gueseed it, a cow.

It was at this point that Anna began to get suspicious, as she told Mashable:

“As we were walking across the yard I saw a cow and calf in the shed and questioned if that was my calf (because I knew it should be bigger)… I had just got the words out and the cow turned around so I could see the writing.”

Yep, Ashley has written the words “MARRY ME?” in spray paint on the calf’s side. When Anna turned around, he was already down on one knee with a ring in hand.

Of course, Anna said yes and she was clearly chuffed with the unusual way of asking the big question, saying:

“Ashley is a typical farmer and he would tell you himself he’s not a romantic, so it was a very pleasant surprise that he had been so creative!”

Take notes all you cattle-owning fellows out there – Valentine’s is getting closer, and we’re hoping there’s a pot bellied pig out there just waiting to be part of someone’s big day. <3
