You can now travel through Athlone by floating hot tub

The only way to travel, let’s be honest with ourselves.

If, after two years and counting of staycationing you feel you’ve enjoyed every unique experience Ireland has to offer, I’m delighted to report you’re mistaken.

If you haven’t travelled along Athlone’s Lough Ree by floating hot tub, you simply haven’t done it all yet.

The Hot Tub Boat is Ireland’s first floating hot tub experience, providing luxury hot tub cruises for groups of 2-6.

The cruises, which are 90 minutes long, are BYOB with coolers available on board, and there’s a built in sound system for anyone who’s already mentally compiling their ultimate floating hot tub playlist.

The Hot Tub Boat is run by Shane McCormack, an RNLI volunteer with over 15 years experience in the industry, and has been designed for safety and stability on the water. The boats can cater for up to 6 passengers and 2 crew, making them perfect for a unique experience with friends, family – even a small hen party.

All you need to do is bring your swimwear and a spare towel, then sit back and enjoy the scenes as your tub makes its way along the water.
