Amazon Couriers Could Soon Be Able To Enter Your Home If You’re Not There

James Fenton

Amazon is launching a new service which will allow couriers to enter buyers’ homes if they not there to receive their deliveries

The BBC is reporting that those who sign up for Amazon Key will need to have a smart lock and a Cloud Cam camera.

The camera will record the courier who will then scan a barcode before unlocking the door using an app.

Amazon told the BBC that there will be background checks on all couriers involved:

“These individuals are thoroughly vetted, with comprehensive background checks and motor vehicle records reviews”

At first, Amazon Key will be available in 37 U.S. cities before being rolled out in other countries, including Ireland, if successful.
