Bridgerton is officially the most-watched Netflix series of all time

Netflix has confirmed that period drama Bridgeton is now the most-watched original series on the platform with around 82 million households viewing the show in just 28 days.

Bridgerton was released to much fanfare on Christmas Day and has been well-received by fans and critics alike. A cast that includes Nicola Coughlan of Derry Girls fame has now entertained a whopping 82 million households, making it the most-viewed Netflix original of all-time.

The first series consisted of eight episodes and just last week it was confirmed that the show will be returning for series two.

Bridgerton centres around around the Bridgerton family, naturally enough, consisting of Violet, Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton, her four sons, Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory and her four daughters, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca and Hyacinth. The first series was notable for its large helpings of bedroom action and you can probably expect more of the same in season two.
