The Big Boyler, Chris O’Dowd, needs your help to cure his homesickness.
Anyone who has spent an extended period of time abroad will know that homesickness comes in waves. Sometimes it’s non-existent, other times it’s all-consuming and one can only imagine what it must feel like during a global pandemic when the possibility of getting home is slim to none – especially should you find yourself far away from friends and family.
Emotions are at an all-time high, exacerbated by the uncertainty of life at the moment, and if there’s one thing we know to be true it’s that homesickness doesn’t discriminate… it affects celebrities and laymen alike. Which is why Chris O’Dowd has been asking people to share photos of his beloved homeland to help him try to cure his.
Finding himself feeling a little glum, the Big Boyler took to Twitter writing:
“Homesick today. Can anyone in the west of Ireland send me big sexy photos of landscapes please.”
Unsurprisingly, the good people of the Twitter-sphere were happy as ever to oblige, sharing some of their best photos of our lovely Emerald Isle. And whether you’re abroad or not, they’ll certainly make you miss the outdoors and the wide expanse of lush green countryside that’s waiting for us once all of this is over.
Here is a selection of our favourites.

Have a look at the full thread here. Dorothy had one thing right – there really is no place like home.
