Connell’s GAA shorts are being auctioned for a very worthy cause

James Fenton

The biggest star of Normal People could soon be yours if you’re willing to part with some cash for a very worthy cause.

No, we’re talking about Paul Mescal or Daisy-Edgar Jones but we’re actually referring to Connell’s GAA shorts. The sportswear have taken on a life of their own since the release of Normal People earlier this year, with Gucci even selling a pair inspired by the GAA scenes in the hit show.

The famous garment could soon take pride of place in your own drawer after Paul Mescal teamed up with The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation to auction them off. The charity, which helps fund home nursing care for sick children, announced today that the actor has signed a pair of the famous shorts and they will be available as part of the Auction Thrill for Jack & Jill.

For anyone doubting the authenticity of the shorts, the charity shared a video of Mescal himself ensuring that he has indeed signed the shorts and you can check out the clip below…

A great little addition to your wardrobe and one that would be helping a lot of children as well. The auction begins this coming Friday and other items up for grabs are Conor Murray’s rugby boots and some headwear belonging to Open champion golfer Shane Lowry.
