Four Cinemas Will Screen Ireland’s Rugby World Cup Matches For FREE

James Fenton

Hold your horses, there. Free? When you hear that Irish cinemas will be screening some of the biggest sporting events of the year for no cost whatsoever, the inclination is to wonder what the catch is.

Well, it appears there is none when it comes to Omniplex’s plans for the Rugby World Cup. The cinema chain has announced that it will be showing each and every one of Ireland’s games over in the Far East on the big screen.

Rugby fans, and the bandwagoners of course, will be able to enjoy the big match atmosphere at the chain’s Cork, Limerick, Rathmines and Dundonald branches at a cost of absolutely nothing. Not only that but you can also pre-book a breakfast roll and a tea or coffee for €11 as the digital surround sound brings the games to life from thousands of miles away. Who needs to be traveling to Japan when you have all this?

These are the dates you need to keep in your diary:

Ireland V Scotland – Sunday September 22

Doors open 8:00am | Kick off 8:45am

Ireland V Japan – Saturday September 28
