From Love Island villa to Crossmolina – Toby is back where he belongs

Fiona Frawley

Ever since we clocked his mother’s Mayo brogue on the family episode of Love Island, we’ve been petitioning for Toby to return to his homeland.

He had possibly one of the most entertaining character arcs in Love Island history, going from villain number one, to aggressive weight lifter, to villa guidance counsellor in a matter of weeks. Once he eventually found his way back to Chloe he solidified his position as one of our fave islanders, and the fact that he’s Irish? Sure it only sweetens the deal.

He landed back on Irish soil this week, and obviously we’ve been glued to his stories, waiting to see what crazy antics he gets up to during his time at home. Needless to say, he’s been delivering the goods.

Here he is taking the obligatory ~Big Stretch~ to break up the journey at a Mayo service station. We’re hoping this was accompanied by a chicken fillet roll and lucozade for sustenance.

Next, he asked his 1 million followers whether they thought the Loch Ness Monster was splashing around Lough Conn. Fair question tbh.

Obviously, it’s not a trip to the Wesht if you don’t befriend any farm animals.

Side note, he named his rental car after Kevin Doyle. Just the kind of support you’d expect from a Hashtag United player. We love to see it.

We’re hoping to see him shouting at pedestrians from the Viking Splash Tour before the week is out.
