Apparently, it’s time for skinny jeans to go. Oh, say it ain’t so.
Remember when it was ‘ugh, millennials’? We were the young and foolish bunch according to the generations above us. But lads, we’re getting on now and taking our coffee and avocado notions into our late-20s and 30s.
A newer, cooler generation is here to take our place. And guys, they’re saying skinny jeans are out. I have many feelings about that. I will defend my skinny jeans until the day I die. You youngsters can’t stop me.
According to Gen Z TikTok, skinny jeans are out and baggy jeans (or Mom jeans) are in.
Apparently, side parts and emojis are also out of fashion. I’ll let the youngsters explain. According to one Gen Z TikTok user, she would rather die in 30 seconds than wear skinny jeans.
@amelie_coleman_Okay we all had a skinny jeans phase but I love my baggy jeans♬ This is not my sound – Mikaela
Of course, millennials have been up in arms on Twitter. Oh my god, are WE the Karens now? I’m afraid to go on a night out in my skinny jeans when the world reopens. Are the cool younger people going to laugh at me?

Good thing my boss isn’t at work today because I just spent 3 hours panic buying straight leg jeans after gen z announced skinny jeans are over

So, I need to know the plan of action here, folks. Are we accepting defeat and ordering ‘Mom jeans’ or are we fighting back?
My skinny jeans are comfy, they quite literally hug me. And of course, they make my bum look peachy. Are peachy bums out now? Damn, life was much simpler when we were wearing ripped skinnies and converse while listening to The Black Eyed Peas.
It’s not just the jeans that are uncool anymore. Evidently, side parts and the cry-laughing emoji is an identifier for a millennial.
One Twitter user sums up the whole debacle perfectly:
Me, a cusper: you know, I might actually be starting to identify with more with Gen Z than millennials
Gen Z: side parts, skinny jeans, and the 😂 emoji are OUT!
